Bingo event to educate residents about fraud

Apr. 2—McALISTERVILLE — A free event providing tips on avoiding identity theft and other scams will be held April 12 in McAlisterville for residents of Pennsylvania's 85th Legislative District.

Rep. David Rowe, in partnership with the Department of Banking and Securities, is hosting the free Fraud Bingo event to teach the public about protecting themselves from financial fraud while playing bingo for prizes.

Rowe serves the counties of Snyder, Union, Mifflin and Juniata.

"This is a great opportunity for older adults to learn more about common scams and tactics used by fraudsters looking to obtain personal information," Rowe said. "With the constant evolution of technology, we can't be too careful when it comes to protecting our identity and personal information. I hope my constituents take advantage of this no-cost opportunity to learn more about scams at this event, so they can be educated and discerning when it comes to sharing information."

Fraud Bingo will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, at the Lion's Den, 158 Lion's Den Drive in McAlisterville.

To reserve a spot or ask a question about the event, call Rowe's office at 570-837-0052 or visit www.RepDavidRowe.com/Events.
