Black Ribbon Seen on Sydney Opera House in Tribute to Bondi Junction Victims

A black ribbon was projected onto one of the shell-like roof sections of the Sydney Opera House on Monday, April 15, in tribute to the victims of the deadly weekend knife attack at Bondi Junction.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese ordered all flags at government buildings to be lowered to half-mast on April 15 to honour victims of the attack.

Albanese’s office said that government buildings would lower flags from sunrise “as a mark of mourning and respect”.

On Sunday, New South Wales Police identified the attacker as 40-year-old Queensland man Joel Cauchi. He was shot by police after six people were fatally stabbed. Credit: NSW Police via Storyful
