All Blacks scrumhalf Cam Roigard sidelined with serious left knee injury

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — All Blacks scrumhalf Cam Roigard will miss most of the rest of the 2024 season after suffering a serious left knee injury in a Super Rugby match last weekend.

Roigard will miss the remainder of the Super Rugby Pacific season, mid-year tests against England and probably the Rugby Championship after suffering a ruptured patella tendon while playing for the Hurricanes against the Highlanders.

In a statement Wednesday the Wellington-based Hurricanes said Roigard had undergone successful surgery in Auckland.

“Provided all goes well with his rehabilitation he could be back as soon as six months from now,” the statement said.

Roigard has been the form New Zealand scrumhalf in Super Rugby this season and was making a strong claim for the All Blacks starting role against England.
