Blind Son of Argentine Club Legend Celebrates as Team Escapes Relegation

Argentinian side Union de Santa Fe went into the last round of Primera Division games as a relegation favorite. But with a 1-0 victory and other results going their way, they managed a dramatic escape, much to the delight of devoted fans.

Among them was Agustin Marzo, son of the revered Santa Fe goleador Jose Luis “Loco” Marzo. Agustin was as rapt as anyone at the Estadio 15 de Abril, but being visually impaired, he was following the game against Tigre as described over his headphones, as this touching video of the final moments shows.

The video was taken by journalist Emiliano Nunia.

“The 1-0 victory over Tigre at the 15 de Abril Stadium meant a relief for the people of Tatengue,” Nunia told Storyful, using the team’s nickname. “Both in the stands and on the playing field there were emotional scenes that will be kept in my memory,” he said.
