Blue Skies Return to Dubai, but Streets Remain Swamped After Epic Deluge

Brighter weather returned to the UAE on April 17, but flooding remained in many areas after the heaviest rain in decades brought chaos to the Gulf state.

Footage by X user @0xRickyW shows a view of Dubai from the Sheraton Mall of the Emirates Hotel. Cars can be seen still swamped by floodwater.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates issued a stay-at-home advisory on Tuesday, April 16.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) stressed “the necessity of staying at home and following safety instructions during the weather conditions."
