30 Rock and Flight of the Conchords star Kristen Schaal has had a solid career in the animation industry, providing voices for Bob's Burgers, BoJack Horseman and Gravity Falls, all great shows.

But the actress has revealed that she was actually fired from one of TV's longest-running animated shows, South Park.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actress said she was a writer on the show in 2007, but was a bit too eager to pitch her ideas.

"I was pitching too much," she said. "I’d never been in a writers’ room before. So I was just like, let me earn my keep. I was like, 'How about this? How about this? How about this?' And that’s not how it works.

"I was there for like a month and I was told — I got a warning that I was talking too much. I couldn’t (do the movie parodies they were big on at the time), so I just kept pitching another thing. So looking back, yeah, they let me go.

"I could do a writers' room now, just for everybody listening, but I was too nervous and too excited to be in there."

Meanwhile, South Park was announced this week to be getting another six seasons and a whopping 14 movies/specials.

South Park airs on Comedy Central. It's also available via streaming services including Amazon Prime Video and NOW in the UK, with selected episodes on Netflix. In the US, it's also available on HBO Max.
