Bodies found in Midlands home as police launch investigation

A police investigation has been launched after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered inside a house in Stoke-on-Trent. Officers were called to the property on Catalina Place, Meir Park, today at 1pm.

They made the sad discovery of the man and woman, both in their 70s, inside. They were pronounced dead at 2.15pm today (Saturday, April 20). Armed police were reportedly seen on the street.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "An investigation is being carried out to establish the circumstances of the incident. At this stage, we are confident there is no wider threat or risk to the community.

"Their family are being supported by specialist officers."
