A body has been found in the search for missing teacher Anthony Hill who was previously a colleague of Martin Lewis at MoneySavingExpert.

The 37-year-old was last seen leaving his home address on Plumstead Road East in Norwich at 7.45am on Monday morning, with CCTV later capturing him at a Co-Op on Sprowston Road at around 10am.

Police and local volunteers quickly launched a search for the dad-of-two and Martin Lewis made a heartfelt plea for help to find him, reports the Mirror.

However, Norfolk Police have now confirmed that officers discovered the body of a man in Norwich, shortly before 8pm. While they are yet to formally identify the body, the service said it has informed the family of Mr Hill.

The force said: "Police can confirm the body of a man was found in Norwich last night (Thursday 20 June 2024). The body was discovered in an area off Heathgate in the city shortly before 8pm.

"Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, the family of 37-year-old Anthony Hill, who was reported missing from his home in Norwich on Monday (17 June 2024) have been informed."

The death is not believed to be suspicious.

The disappearance of Mr Hill captured national attention when Martin Lewis issued an urgent appeal as search efforts mounted. In a statement to ITV News Anglia, the money saving expert pleaded with the public to keep their eye out for the dad.

He said: "The message is just really simple: please keep your eye out for Ant. Anyone who lives in the locale, check your CCTV just in case he happened to walk past and it gives the police something more to go on."

Mr Lewis added that he was approached by Mr Hill's wife, Kayleigh, via a colleague, asking whether he could "use your profile to help raise awareness", and that "of course, I jumped on it".

He continued: "What's the point of having profile if you can't help in a case like this? He added: "I have fond memories of Ant and wanted to do what I can to help".

"As long as I can be useful in helping spread the message, so we can get real awareness on the fact that Ant's missing and how many of us are desperate to have him back and to welcome him back into Kayleigh's arms, into his family's arms and to make all of our hearts beat a little bit better, I will keep doing so, as long as Kayleigh thinks that's the right thing to do."
