Body found in search for missing Bradford man John Chege

A body has been found in the search for missing man, John Chege, from Bradford .

West Yorkshire Police have called off the search after a body, believed to be that of the 64-year-old, was found just after 3.02pm today (April 18) in woods close to Station Road in the Wyke area of the city .

Mr Chege was reported missing on Tuesday evening (April 16). Police described him as black, 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, and clean shaven with glasses. The 64-year-old was last seen wearing a blue suit, blue button shirt, brown smart shoes and a brown coat with a Mercedes logo on it.

Earlier today, officers released CCTV images of Mr Chege, as officers became “very concerned for his welfare”.

Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police added: “Enquiries are ongoing to confirm the identity of the deceased and Mr Chege’s family have been informed.”
