Body found in search for missing Kent man

Police have confirmed a body has been found in the search for a missing Kent man. Jonathan Poole had been reported missing from Hythe.

He had last been seen in the Reachfields area on Thursday, May 30 and a missing person appeal was subsequently issued by Kent Police. But, tragically, the force has today (June 20) confirmed a body has been discovered.

The discovery was made on farmland near Hythe shortly after 8.30pm last night (June 19). A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was called to a report that a man's body had been found on farmland near Hythe.

"Officers attended and a man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Whilst formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of a 64-year-old man from Hythe, who was reported missing on Wednesday, June 5, have been informed.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner."
