A body has been found in the search for a missing man from Newton Abbot. James Corner, 43, was reported missing last Thursday (May 9) and police launched an urgent appeal to find him.

In an update this morning (Monday, May 13), Devon and Cornwall Police said that a body was found in Newton Abbot on Friday. The family of James have been informed.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A body has been found in the search for 43-year-old James Corner, who was reported missing last week. James was last seen on Thursday and searches were ongoing in the area to locate him.

"A body was located in the Newton Abbot area on Friday afternoon. Formal ID is yet to take place but the family of James have been informed of this development."
