Body recovered from river as part of search for missing Larne woman Leah Sloan

The body of a woman has been recovered from a river in Larne as part of the search for missing person Leah Sloan/McCrea.

Police and search teams recovered the body this afternoon in the Inver River and a formal identification is due to take place.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police and searchers looking for missing person Leah Sloan/McCrea have located a body in the Inver River in Larne.

"Formal identification will take place in due course and Leah’s family has been informed.

"We would thank everyone who assisted with the search for Leah."

Leah was last seen in the Pound Street area of Larne on Thursday, April 25, at around 1.30am.

Police have said they were increasingly concerned about her whereabouts after launching a search appeal for Leah on Sunday, April 28.
