We've all got a million fan theories about Bodyguard at the moment, and creator Jed Mercurio has teased that some of us may be on the right track.

The big talking point has obviously been whether Keeley Hawes' Home Secretary Julia Montague is really dead after THAT explosion in episode three.

While she was later confirmed to have passed away, many viewers are still not convinced and believe that she is alive.

This question was put to creator Jed Mercurio on This Morning today (September 19), and he may (or may not) have dropped a big hint about Julia actually being alive.

"Well I think you need to watch the finale on Sunday night," he said. "But we're all sitting back and enjoying the speculation.

"It's great that people have their own theories and actually I do look at some of the bigger theories and it's interesting that there is occasionally a grain of truth. It's not like we're all standing by going 'hotter' 'colder'."

Phillip Schofield then pointed out that Mercurio had previously said that Julia is definitely dead, the creator teasing: "If you're a drama writer you always have to tell the truth, there's no element of fiction."

Well, we'll take that as a BIG hint.

"The fact that it happened before makes people swing towards the idea that she must obviously be dead," he further explained as he alluded to the fact Hawes was killed off in Line of Duty too.

"But there are other things in the drama that makes people swing to the idea that that's obviously a ruse."

During the interview, the show also previewed a clip that hinted towards a link between police chief Anne Sampson and crime lord Luke Aitken.

Well, we'll find out when Bodyguard's finale airs on Sunday (September 23) on BBC One. And it can't come soon enough.
