A Bradford-based bakery products manufacturer has appointed a new CEO.

Baker & Baker, which has a manufacturing site at Cutler Heights Lane, has appointed Matthew Acheson as its group CEO.

Mr Acheson, who has served as CFO of Baker & Baker and the previous CSM Bakery Solutions business since 2017, was officially appointed from January 1.

He succeeds John Lindsay in the role.

Mr Lindsay has moved into a strategic advisory role until May 1, 2025, when he will formally retire and then take up a non-executive director position with the company.

Marianne Kirkegaard, executive chairman of the board of Baker & Baker, said: "On behalf of the Board, I would like to congratulate Matthew on his appointment as CEO, and express our confidence, trust, and support in him to lead the company in its new endeavours.

"I would also like to pay tribute to John for his many years of impeccable service - and in particular his fantastic leadership of the business since 2016, including the transition, establishment, and success of Baker & Baker as a new business entity."

Baker & Baker has capabilities in the donut, muffin, brownie, cookie, cake, specialty bread, and viennoiserie categories.

It serves customers across the retail, food service, and artisan channels.

(Reuters) -Polestar's new CEO said on Thursday it would take longer for the Swedish electric-vehicle maker to be profitable and delayed its expansion of sales to more countries. Polestar, backed by China's Geely, has struggled to increase sales amid declining EV demand and intensifying competition from manufacturers such as Tesla and Volkswagen Group. As a result, Polestar last year appointed industry veteran Michael Lohscheller as CEO and several other new executives, including a head of design, board chair, finance chief and chief operating officer.
