Aston Villa have confirmed the departure of Douglas Luiz to Juventus.

The Italian club will pay Villa €50m for Luiz and sell Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea in a separate transaction worth €22m. Brazilian midfielder Luiz made a total of 204 appearances for the club after arriving from Man City in the summer of 2019 following their promotion from the Championship.

The 26-year-old played a key role in Villa's progress under Unai Emery over the last 20 months, helping his side qualify for Europe, reach the Europa Conference League semi-final and then secure Champions League qualification last season.

Tim Iroegbunam has left for Everton in a deal worth up to £13m, while Toffees academy product Lewis Dobbin has joined Villa for £9m.

Luton Town midfielder Ross Barkley is expected to join Villa for £5m after the two clubs agreed a fee earlier this month.
