Brendan Rodgers interview derailed by Celtic flares as pyro BURNS through Sky Sports kit

Sky Sports had some technical problems during Celtic's title party - because FLARES had burned through their wires.

The Hoops clinched a third title on the spin against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park as they just needed a point but blew through Killie with a rampant 5-0 win. They were on fire to seal a 12th trophy in 13 years and some pyro from the stands spilled onto the pitchside area.

Brendan Rodgers was pulled in for his instant reaction by Sky Sports and was seen embracing Neil Lennon in front of the Celtic support. But viewers at home couldn't hear what was being said - with none of the broadcast microphones working for the first two minutes. Fans could hear murmurs of what was being said with host Eilidh Barbour doing her best to get Rodgers heard but there was little audible with the noise from the crowd deafening.

Things were resolved after a few minutes and Barbour later explained, accompanied by pictures of the charred wires: "Flares and TV broadcast don't work too well. One of them burnt through our sound wires as you can see there which was why we sadly couldn't hear what Brendan Rodgers was saying when he came over."

Speaking after the game, a delighted Rodgers later told Sky Sports said: "There has been a lot of negativity around them this season and that goes all the way back to August. But they've just stayed with it, kept believing and players coming back. The performance level over the last couple of months under pressure has been fantastic. I am very proud for them and very happy for the supporters."
