Britain’s newspapers have marked Brexit day with emotions ranging from jubilation to fear for the future.

The UK is due to leave the European Union at 11pm today, ending its 47-year membership of the bloc.

The country’s departure puts into action the outcome of the 2016 referendum, three and a half years after it was held.

The UK will no longer be an official EU member but will enter into the transition period, where it will continue to accept EU rules until the end of the year, unless an agreement on its future relationship with the bloc is agreed before then.
