Theresa May has addressed EU leaders in Brussels in a bid to push forward with crucial Brexit talks.

The Prime Minister used a dinner to push her call for urgency on trade talks and her promise to treat EU residents well once Britain leaves the EU.

It was the British leader's latest attempt to reinvigorate the divorce talks.

But ever since a conciliatory speech by May last month, EU officials have become increasingly impatient about a lack of detailed plans from Britain.

Mrs May arrived at the EU summit on Thursday afternoon following a press conference with Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker.
