Succession has managed to sneak in a crossover with Brian Cox's real life in the penultimate episode of the fourth and final season.

Episode 9 ('Church and State') of the acclaimed HBO series created by Jesse Armstrong gave the late Logan Roy (Cox) a proper send-off. In the midst of those in attendance, fans spotted Cox's wife of more than 20 years, Nicole Ansari-Cox, among Logan's numerous ex-wives and side hustles.

Ansari, who has also appeared on Law & Order, played the role of Sally-Ann, introduced by Lady Caroline (Harriet Walter) as her own Kerry.

Earlier this year, Cox revealed he and his wife had chosen to renew their vows in a Vegas ceremony.

"We'd actually been apart for a while — she'd been traveling — and then we sat down and we said, 'Where do we go from here? Do we finish or do we go on?'" the actor said during an appearance on Live with Ryan and Kelly.

"And we thought, 'Well let's go on and get married.'"

Cox will also appear in horror-comedy The Parenting and lend his voice to animated movie The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, with the latter slated for a 2024 release.

Succession season 4 airs on HBO in the US, and Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK.
