Bridgerton fans rejoice - the hit Netflix series has finally returned for its highly-anticipated third season.

The hit Regency drama first debuted in 2020 and focuses on the eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love. It's been more than two years since we last visited the Ton when season two aired in 2022.

Season three is dropping in two installments, with the first four episodes released on Thursday (May 16), and the second half landing next month on Thursday, June 13. Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan return as Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington - and it's time to see some groveling from our man Luke.

The series is among Netflix's most popular and is based on the Bridgerton novels by Julia Quinn. However producers Shondaland and new showrunner Jess Brownell have shaken things up this season.

The first two seasons largely followed the first two books of the series, Bridgerton: The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me. But season three is based on Quinn's fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, focusing on Penelope and Colin's love story instead.

While tensions rise between the will-they, won't-they pair, fans will no doubt be eager to know if there's more Bridgerton goodness to come. Here's everything we know so far about season four...

Will there be a Bridgerton season four?

Yes! Back in 2021, Bridgeton producer and creator Chris Van Dusen confirmed Netflix had renewed the smash hit series for another two seasons - so that covered series three AND four.

While season four doesn't yet have a premiere date, it's possible the earliest it could air is 2025. Showrunner Brownell previously told Refinery29: "We actually don't know when it's gonna drop.

"We're still making sure that we write the best possible script that we can before we start production. But we're really thrilled with what we've been working on - so hold out hope!"

That leaves us wondering - whose love story will take centre stage in Bridgerton's next chapter? Talking to Refiney29 once again at the recent premiere in Australia, Brownell remained understandably tight-lipped.

But she did tease: "I can tell you that I know who it's gonna be. We are in the middle of writing it right now."

Of course, season four could take a number of directions. If it's based on the third Bridgerton novel, it would focus on Sophie Beckett and her fairy-tale romance with Benedict Bridgerton. Or, their story could be skipped until a later series - which means the focus could instead shift to Eloise Bridgerton, whose storyline really picked up at the end of season two.

Or maybe Francesca Bridgerton could be at the centre of season four instead. Time will tell!

As Netflix isn’t even halfway through Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton collection of novels - there are eight in total - fans can remain confident that there'll be even more drama to come.

Bridgerton season three part one is available to stream on Netflix now. Part two drops on June 13.
