Production for the latest Bridget Jones sequel is reportedly causing issues for a number of big name celebrities who live near the filming location.

Cast including Renée Zellweger - who is reprising her role as the titular character - Leo Woodall, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Hugh Grant have been seen filming for Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy on the streets of Haverstock and Hampstead.

Residents including the likes of Harry Styles and Ricky Gervais are said to have been sent letters requesting that they don’t leave their homes at certain times in order to avoid disruption to filming for the fourth instalment, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

The move has resulted in “chaos” and “gone down like a lead balloon” according to a source.

“Neighbourhoods with stars such as Harry Styles, Rami Malek, Ricky Gervais and Rowan Atkinson, living there are all getting letters from the production about not interrupting shots,” the told The Sun.

“The letters have informed them about when filming is taking place and they have been asked to either leave their homes during this time or not to come and go at certain times.”

The Standard has contacted representatives for Working Title Films for comment.

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy marks the fourth instalment of the beloved franchise based on the books by author Helen Fielding.

The new flick, directed by Michael Morris, comes eight years after Bridget Jones’s Baby.

It is believed to follow the events of the 2013 novel, of which it shares the same title and sees Bridget navigate life as a widow in her 50s following husband Mark Darcey’s death in a landmine accident two years earlier.

The fourth Bridget Jones' Diary is set for US release on Valentine's Day (February 14) 2025. The UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
