Ryanair is introducing a direct flight from Bristol Airport to Frankfurt for the first time, specifically to accommodate fans travelling to Germany for the Euro 20224 football championships.

The Ryanair flight is one of five return flights from various UK airports scheduled around England's second group stage match against Denmark, set to take place in Frankfurt on June 20.

Typically, there are no direct flights between Bristol and Frankfurt, with travellers usually required to change in Amsterdam. However, in response to the anticipated demand from football fans, Ryanair has arranged a one-off direct flight from Bristol to Frankfurt.

This special flight is scheduled to depart from Bristol Airport at 8.40am on Wednesday, June 19, with the return flight leaving Frankfurt's Hahn Airport at 6.55pm on Friday, June 21, the day following the match.

A spokesperson for Ryanair announced: "Ryanair has added over 2,000 extra seats for England fans travelling to watch what's set to be an unforgettable match in-person," as reports Bristol Live.

"We have extra flights from London Stansted, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham, ensuring that fans can conveniently get to/from Frankfurt on match day, as well as having the opportunity to soak up the pre- and post-game atmosphere on the ground," they further explained.

Franke Rudiger, the head of Frankfurt's Hahn Airport, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, stating: "We as an airport are also looking forward to a big football festival in Germany,".

"The fact that football fans are taking advantage of Ryanair's attractive offers to travel to Hahn Airport and start their European Championship adventure from there is a great thing. As usual, we are optimally prepared as an airport," he added.
