A coffee shop in Bristol has opened a new venue on the iconic Christmas Steps. Dareshack first opened its multi-purpose arts venue on Wine Street in October 2020, in the home of a former Starbucks, and later expanded into an adjacent building with 4,000sq ft of space for gigs and creative events.

And now the team behind the venue have opened their latest site at Number 4 Christmas Steps. Posting a photo of their new shop with a 'now open' sign, an Instagram post on June 3 read: "Ready to roll! We are so stoked to join the local community of Christmas Steps Arts Quarter with our first coffee house concept."

In 2022, BristolLive reported that staff of Dareshack on Wine Street was on a mission to 'unleash creative opportunities' through the speciality coffee it served, raising funds for local projects 'one cup at a time'.

According to its website, which is currently in development, Dareshack describes itself as a "creative studio powered by coffee" and lists a number of events - sometimes as often as weekly - mainly involving live music which you can buy tickets for here. Since the first venue's opening, the 14-capacity studio space has played host to photoshoots, filming and workshops, too.

Its Instagram page has previously advertised for faces for a new web series, and has promoted its own merchandise, collaborations and more over the years. It has even hosted TEDX talks for the University of Bristol.

Taking to the comments section, customers were quick to share their excitement at a new Dareshack venue opening in the Christmas Steps area. One diner said: "Welcome to the area! Looking so lovely. Thanks for our coffee today."

A second wrote: "Congratulations. So much work. Looks beaut." While a third called it a "mega move" and others said they "couldn't wait" to visit.
