Bristol's most wanted criminals police are hunting for

Avon and Somerset Police and the National Crime Agency are asking for help to find several people. The wanted list includes a man who failed to return to HMP Leyhill open prison after being released on temporary licence.

Some of these people have been on the run for several months and years and the police are keen to track them down and bring them to justice.

Alex Male

Operating via the now defunct EncroChat network, Alex Male is alleged to be a regional distributor of drugs across the south west of England. The man from Weston-super-Mare is wanted on suspicion of buying and selling drugs and managing other distributors.

Male has been accused by the NCA of conspiracy to supply cocaine and ketamine, money laundering, and conspiracy to acquire a firearm. He is understood to be around 30-years old and approximately six foot tall.

Male has distinctive tattoos including a skull on his Adam's apple, a full sleeve on his left arm, the word ‘love’ on his left hand and three stars tattooed on his left wrist.

He also has a full tribal sleeve tattoo on his right arm going onto his chest with an angel on his back and ‘live’ tattooed on his right hand.

In May 2022, Male was arrested at Portugal's Lisbon Aiport after arriving into the country on a flight from Turkey, having been placed on the UK National Crime Agency 's (NCA) 'Most Wanted' list three months earlier. He was then released by Portuguese police and has been on the run since.

Avon and Somerset Police are warning the public to not approach a wanted man who failed to return to HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire. Eric Pearce, 26, did not return to HMP Leyhill as he was required to on Wednesday, April 17.

He was serving a sentence for a burglary offence. Pearce is described as being white with short dark hair and facial hair. It is thought that he has links to Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Anyone who sees Pearce should call 999 immediately, giving reference 5224098386. Those with information about his whereabouts should call the non-emergency 101 line.

Osama Bakali

Bakali from Mount Pleasant in Swansea is wanted on suspicion of breaching a court order and his whereabouts have been unknown since June 2018.

He has previous links to Swansea, Bristol and Swindon.
