Brits are notorious for their love of a good moan about the weather, be it wind, rain, snow, or even an unexpected sunny spell.

Lately, the chatter has been all about the unpredictable weather, with many Britons grumbling over the recent erratic conditions. One moment we're battling the "muggy" heat and the next, we're caught in a downpour!

As summer moods take a hit, Reddit users have been vocal about their thoughts on the impending 30C heatwave. A post expressing disdain for the humid and rainy weather appeared on the r/britishproblems forum, sparking quite a discussion.

One user lamented the discomfort of being caught between needing a raincoat and overheating, saying: "Just went to walk the dog. Starting p**sing it down five minutes after leaving the house so I put my 'breathable' waterproof on. Ended up wet and hot."

This sentiment resonated with others who are less than thrilled with the current weather. Further comments echoed this frustration, with one person noting: "It's really muggy isn't it"

Another individual added their experience, saying: "Yep. To add to my woes I also got completely savaged by horse flies. They seem to like the weather." The original poster commiserated, referring to the insects as the "bane of [their] f***ing life".

Someone else chimed in: "Been an absolute sweaty mess all day. How does it feel so hot and cold all at the same time? " And another suggested: "Sometimes it's easier to just accept getting wet and change clothes."

A helpful suggestion came from another Redditor though, who dared to propose: "May I suggest to you the humble, yet misunderstood, umbrella?" However, this notion sparked indignation among others, given the strong winds.

One individual retorted: "What? In this wind?" Another added: "Umbrellas are for a mostly fictional situation where it rains without an accompanying gale. This only happens in a Hollywood sound stage version of the UK, with the red phone boxes and guys with bowler hats. But people keep buying them."

Mapping from WXcharts indicates an incoming heatwave as temperatures are predicted to surge by 10 degrees on Sunday 21 July. The impeding high pressure system signifies that mainland Europe's roasting conditions are set to reach the UK, bringing an end to the prolonged stint of dreary, wet weather.

The southeast is due for the hottest weather, potentially reaching highs of 26C, while areas as far north as Humberside could experience up to 24C. However, the far north and west should expect more modest temperatures between 18C and 20C.

Following Exacta Weather's James Madden's claim that people in some parts of the UK will be able to "get the barbecues ready" soon, he predicted temperatures could rise upwards of 35C.

He stated: "Get the barbecues at the ready, as a big change and some big heat are now set to arrive on cue! The expected and well-promised pattern change for July 1020, particularly July 1517, is now on and imminent for some very hot to potentially extreme heat, which is now on the horizon for many parts of the country within the next several days."
