Ant and Dec were forced to step in and offer a reminder to the judges on the rules of Britain's Got Talent after a 'rule break' threw the show into chaos last year.

After a lot of speculation, ex Strictly star Bruno Tonioli was signed up to replace David Walliams on the ITV show last year, but his first few days on the panel didn't end up going to plan, as he didn't seems to grasp the concept of the Golden Buzzer and how each judge is only meant to hit it once to send an act straight through to the live shows.

Newcomer to BGT Bruno ended up becoming a bit too enthusiastic and pressed the buzzer multiple times within days of starting his stint on the show, with head honcho Simon Cowell bending the rules further as he too allowed himself to send two acts through to the semis, before, after a lot of pressure from his colleagues and the very vocal studio audience, gave in in the final round of auditions to allow a joint final buzzer, as the rule book was thrown well and truly out the window.

After nearly a year away from screens, Britain's Got Talent made its much hyped return to screens on Saturday night and, a week on from them bringing the curtain down on Saturday Night Takeaway, for now at least, Ant and Dec were back at the helm as the 2024 auditions kicked off in London.

And, before all the judges took their seats on the panel to run the rule over a new bunch of hopefuls, Ant and Dec intervened with a reminder to them on the show works. As they all stood in front of the Golden Buzzer, Dec pointed out: "Just a reminder you get one of these each," as Ant concurred: "One each."

Appearing intent to cause a bit of mischief from the get-go, a defiant Simon replied: "How about we put however...." as Dec snapped back: "No!"
