Britain's Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli is left in tears in tonight's show thanks to North Staffordshire opera singer's incredible life story. Audley-born soprano Denise Leigh shot to fame after winning Channel 4 reality show 'Operatunity' in 2003.

And she decided to try her luck on BGT with the episode being aired tonight (May 12). It will show Denise taking to the stage with partner, pianist Stefan Andrusyschyn. Together they leave the judges astonished with their spellbinding performance.

The couple, who are both blind and met on a train 18 years ago, perform Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music before receiving a standing ovation.

And judge Bruno, 68, can be seen wiping away tears as they conclude their performance. Bruno tells them: "I'm inspired by you, I've learnt something today about your positive state of mind. You are an example."

The pair's 11-year-old son, Dimitri, was in the audience with Denise's other children Michael, 28, and Sam, 26. Also their for filming was the couple's guide dog, Tilly.

Denise, 52, said she was 'absolutely shaking by the time we'd finished'. She said she didn't notice Bruno burst out in tears until he spoke to praise their performance.

After their initial brief meeting on a train, Denise , who attended Blackfriars Special School in Newcastle, and Stefan, 40, were quickly reunited when they were booked to perform at the same concert.

Britain's Got Talent airs tonight, Saturday, May 12 at 19.40pm on ITV 1.
