King Charles was joined in military dress by Prince William and Princess Anne, with other royals including Princess Kate looking on from balconies. Queen Camilla did not attend the event as she recovers from a chest infection.
For the first time since coming to power in July, Prime Minister Keir Starmer laid a wreath on behalf of the government while newly-chosen Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch laid a wreath on behalf of the opposition.
Remembrance Sunday, marked every year on the Sunday nearest to November 11, commemorates service men and women who died at war.
