British man, 67, ‘found dead by roadside in Chile’

A British man, aged 67, has reportedly been found dead beside a rural road in Chile having suffered a head injury.

The man’s body was found beside the T-354 road in the town of Niebla, near the city of Valdivia, on Chile’s southern coast.

According to a report by local news outlet Diario de Valdivia, he was found dead having suffered a head injury, on Sunday afternoon.

He was reportedly a widower, who owned a Chilean ID card and was a regular visitor to the South American country.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has been approached by the Standard for a comment.
