Britney Spears says she was 'mistreated' by hotel incident coverage: 'I don’t feel loved'
"I honestly wish my life was as wild as it has been portrayed," the pop star says in a social media post.
Britney Spears shut down tabloid reports that she suffered a "breakdown" at famed Hollywood hotel Chateau Marmont last week, calling out the heightened media coverage on the incident.
TMZ reported that paramedics were called to the hotel late into the night on May 2, where Spears was photographed with a pillow and blanket wrapped around her. The report claimed she got into a fight with boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz and hurt her leg, with guests reportedly fearing that she was experiencing a "mental breakdown."
Spears dismissed the reports but confirmed that she had been crying, but only because she injured her foot. "No breakdown !!!" she captioned an Instagram post shared Monday. "I’m a grown ass woman who is actually very naive in most situations !!! I am simply embarrassed they got me in my damn pajamas !!! I don’t feel loved … I feel mistreated."
"I honestly wish my life was as wild as it has been portrayed," Spears also wrote. "Either way, some shit actually has happened to my foot and I might have to get surgery ... fingers crossed, hopefully not but I feel that I was harassed and gaslit and tricked to go on the street when my car was supposed to be there !!!"
Spears explained in a previous Instagram post that she hurt her foot after she attempted a leap in her hotel room but fell. She said the paramedics showed up at her door and "caused this huge scene," claiming that her estranged mother Lynne was involved. "I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out," she said.
The singer recently settled her divorce from Sam Asghari last week. The two separated last August after 14 months of marriage. Spears also settled her lingering legal dispute with estranged father Jamie Spears, stemming from the 2021 termination of her 13-year conservatorship, last month.
