Brits have shared their thoughts on the upcoming uniform for Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. In partnership with adidas, the kit was revealed on Thursday (April 18) on social media, with a collection of athletes modelling the new kit.

The kit is said to unite athletes 'under a design DNA that celebrates the unique aspects of Great Britain', while 'encapsulating the fire of passion that burns within every athlete'. The kit features red, white and blue colours - much like the Union Jack flag.

Photos of the kit were released on social media. Posing in the new kit include the likes of diver Tom Daley, long jumper Jazmin Sawyers, gymnast Max Whitlock, taekwondo athlete Bianca Cook, sprinter Laviai Nielsen, and ParalympicsGB athlete Livvy Breen, among others.

On Instagram, many Brits were impressed with the new kit, with many loving its 'retro' look. Team Deutschland’s official Instagram account wrote: “Looking great @teamgb.”

Courtnayellen said: “Loveeeee this vibe! let's go team!” Chynna.li added: “Looooooove the retro look!!!”

However, there were some who weren't in agreement and called it ‘underwhelming’. Wetherbyortho said: “Pretty underwhelmed by these. How do we pick out our athletes during competition?”

Douglas.gib wrote: “Very underwhelming." J21evo asked: "Won’t we look like the hosts France? Too blue."

FL15s hit back: “Am I the only one who doesn't understand why people are underwhelmed? What were people expecting? These are classic colours in a block classical style without to much fuss. I quite like a clean look of the kit.”

Speaking on the launch of the new kit, Tom Daley said: “The pride and passion I feel when representing my country on the biggest sporting stage is second to none, so to unveil a kit that encompasses what this moment means is incredibly special. I cannot wait to proudly wear it in Paris this Summer, alongside my fellow teammates.”

Jacqueline King, Design Director, Specialist Sports at adidas, said: “Our belief is that there is no greater demonstration of what it means to design for an athlete, than a tournament that showcases the breadth and variety of sport.

"Alongside the goal of supporting the athlete to perform at their best when the pressure builds, these collections seek to connect them to their home nations, via designs inspired by their individual national identities. These elements are brought together in a kit which is grounded in simplicity – resulting in a sleek, modern collection.”
