Bruce Springsteen's Sunderland setlist in full including song not performed in seven years
After fans were kept waiting an extra half an hour to see Bruce Springsteen in Sunderland on Wednesday night, following a delay to the gig's start time, the music legend rewarded their patience with a stellar set of classics in the pouring ran.
Bruce and The E Street Band were due on stage at the Stadium of Light at around 7pm, but with travel chaos across the region due to the horrendous weather and volume of people heading to the concert, Bruce's gig in Sunderland ended up being delayed by more than half an hour.
A sea of ponchos greeted The Boss when he finally arrived on stage, with an estimated 40,000 fans braving the rain to see him, as he began his set with Waitin' on A Sunny Day, a track he hadn't performed with his band in seven years. From there, the prime cuts from the Springsteen back catalogue kept coming and coming, with the likes of Hungry Heart an Thunder Road going down a storm, as well as covers of Nightshift and Because The Night.
Bruce wrapped up his near three hour set with another cover, Twist & Shout and I'll See You in My Dreams, before fans poured out into the streets in high spirits after anther epic night in the presence of a rock 'n' roll icon.
