Brush Fire Rages in Miami Area

A dramatic brush fire burned at least 150 acres of land in the Miami metro area on Sunday, April 14.

Footage filmed by X user @PilarHernanndez shows flames engulfing trees next to a roadway in Tamiami, Florida, on Sunday afternoon.

The police shut down SW 8th Street in both directions on Sunday, according to news reports.

Local firefighters said that hazy and smoky conditions would last throughout Monday as they worked to extinguish lingering hot spots.

They advised nearby residents to keep doors and windows closed and said that people suffering from respiratory conditions should “limit exposure.” Credit: @PilarHernanndez via Storyful
