UPDATE Bucknell University officials identify student found dead Saturday
Mar. 30—LEWISBURG — A Bucknell University student scheduled to graduate this spring died on campus this weekend.
Christian Samay, was scheduled to graduate this spring, according to Bucknell University President John Bravman.
"This is an unspeakable loss for the Bucknell community, and our hearts go out to Christian's family and friends," Bravman said in a written statement Saturday.
No cause of death has been released. Union County Coroner Dominick Adamo said the death is still under investigation and had no comment.
Bravman said Samay's death "was unrelated to (Friday) night's active shooter alert and campus lockdown." State police determined that incident to be a hoax originating in Virginia.
The circumstances of Samay's death are not suspicious but no other information was provided. Bravman said counselors and campus chaplains are available to students.
An alert was sent out by the university to members of the campus community at 1:47 p.m. Saturday about the investigation at 78 University Ave., the location of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.
