Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans got a surprise when one of the show’s stars, Anthony Head, recently celebrated a milestone birthday.

The actor famously played Buffy’s Watcher, Rupert Giles, in the hit series and more recently has starred in popular sit-coms Ted Lasso and Motherland.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Head stunned fans by revealing he recently turned 70 years old.

"No way dude," a fourth fan said, before adding: "You look 20 years younger than that."

"You definitely get better with age," another fan commented. "Still everyone’s favourite person. Hope you feel the respect and adoration we have for you everyday - it is well deserved. Happy Birthday and many more!"

Head recently returned to his iconic Buffy role, but this latest outing as Giles was not on-screen.

Last year he featured in a new Buffy spinoff - an audio series called Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.

Slayers follows the adventures of Spike as he crosses paths with a veteran Slayer from a parallel reality where Buffy Summers never existed.

James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, and more Buffy stars returned alongside Head for the audio project.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer can be streamed in full with a Disney+ subscription.

Slayers: A Buffyverse Story is available on Audible.
