Châteauguay police spokesperson Nadia Grondin says police have received dozens of calls since late February about swastikas and other forms of hateful graffiti.
Businesses, municipal buildings, municipal infrastructure and buildings housing community groups have all been targeted, Grondin said.
Police are not at this time calling these instances hate crimes or investigating them as potential hate crimes.
Grondin also says it's unclear if the swastikas are targeting a specific group of people.
No arrests have been made so far.
