Butterfield fundraiser next week; signups open for summer camp

May 2—Butterfield Stage Players have a lively few months ahead.

Next Thursday is the annual Fish Fest, where all of this past season's shows will be celebrated and next season's shows will be announced.

Fish Fest will be held at Tractor Bob's at Thirty-Five and Liberty. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner being served at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 12 and younger.

Then on May 17, BSP is hosting the Gainesville High School Jazz Band for a concert. Admission is free and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Registration is open for Summer Youth Theater Camp at Butterfield. From June 3 to June 7, the ages seven through 10 camp will be from 9 a.m. to noon, with the ages 11 through 17 camp from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

There will also be an advanced camp for ages 10 through 17 and have earned at least four credits. One credit is awarded per week of BSP Youth summer camp, BSP Youth Theatre production or semester of BSP Youth Classes. This advanced class is from June 10 through 14 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The fee for all camps is $100 for one child, with $75 each for additional siblings.

There's two shows coming up this summer, the first being "Legally Blonde." This musical, inspired by the 2001 film of the same name, will have performances on June 6 through 8 and 13 through 15 at 7 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. matinee performances on June 8, 9, 15 and 16.

Then at the end of July, the Youth Theater is performing "Into the Woods Jr." Evening performances are July 25 through 27 and August 1 through 3 at 7 p.m., and matinee performances are July 28 and August 4 at 2:30 p.m.
