As Ollie Watkins smashed a last-gasp winner past Netherlands’ goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, even the England striker himself could not quite believe what he had just done.

The Aston Villa man had shot England into Sunday's Euro 2024 final, England’s first ever on foreign soil. Once emotions had cooled, fans will have started to plan how they are going to get to the Olympiastadion in Berli for the showpiece event.

Thousands of English and Spanish supporters will be present on Sunday evening as Gareth Southgate’s side vows to right the wrongs of the UEFA Euro 2020 final at Wembley three years ago. Three Lions fans can officially purchase tickets through UEFA’s official Euro 2024 ticket platform for the big game.

A handful may become available before the match if current ticket holders decide to resell, but given the game's magnitude, fans will have to strike lucky. Ticket hopefuls are advised to avoid using third-party websites with UEFA warning tickets that may be ‘fraudulent’.

According to the UEFA.com website "all UEFA men’s club competition finals and UEFA EURO 2024 tickets are digital tickets and are distributed via the official UEFA Tickets mobile app, which contains state-of-the-art security features. There are no paper tickets or print-at-home tickets.

“Tickets purchased from unauthorised third parties, websites or agencies, as well as on social media sites, or from touts may be cancelled by UEFA at any time and fans are likely to be refused entry or be ejected from the stadium.

“Moreover, under certain laws, unauthorised sale of match tickets may constitute a criminal offence and is a matter that UEFA takes very seriously. UEFA actively enforces its ticketing terms and conditions. Several hundred tickets have already been cancelled ahead of the UEFA club competition finals and UEFA EURO 2024 as they were offered and/or transferred in breach of the ticketing terms and conditions.”

On Thursday afternoon, tickets ranged from €95 - a 'fans first' ticket - to €2000 - for prime seats. At 12:30pm on Thursday, MEN Sport logged onto the official UEFA platform, only to be met with the dreaded ‘Currently unavailable’ message. Of course, this may change in the days before the fixture but at a huge price if not bought through official platforms. One third-party site quoted a price of ‘from £1,300’ - the seats furthest from the pitch in a stadium already a fair distance from the action.
