C-3PO's head could fetch up to $1 million at Propstore auction

C-3PO's head could fetch up to $1 million when it hits the auction block next month as part of Propstore's epic three-day Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction of 2024.

Film and TV memorabilia with a total value over $8 million will be auctioned by Propstore in a three-day auction from 12 - 14 March 2024. Bids can be placed online, over the phone, or via absentee bidding.

In addition, in-room bidding will be open to the public at The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on the first day of the event.

Over 1,700 rare and iconic lots will be sold during the event, with other items for sale including Indiana Jones' Screen-Matched Stunt Leather Jacket from The Temple of Doom (est. $200,000 - $400,000), Wyatt's (Peter Fonda) Panhead Chopper Motorcycle from Easy Rider, (est. $200,000 - $400,000), and a Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Imperial Stormtrooper Helmet (est. $150,000 - $300,000).

Anthony Daniels, who plays C-3PO in the Star Wars franchise, says: "After the huge success of part one of the sale of my collection in London, I'm so pleased that Propstore will offer the remainder of my treasures in Los Angeles. I hope these wonderful pieces of memorabilia find new homes where they will be displayed, respected and enjoyed by fans, who now have a chance to own a genuine piece of Star Wars history."

Brandon Alinger, COO of Propstore, explains that the auction doesn't just feature items from modern cult favourites - but also lots from Hollywood's Golden Age - including Moses' (Charlton Heston) tablets from The Ten Commandments.

"The auction has a strong showing of the usual crowd-favorite titles such as Indiana Jones and Blade Runner, and also contains a great spread of vintage material from names like Charlie Chaplin, Groucho Marx, Audrey Hepburn, Charlton Heston, and many more," he adds.

Registration is now open at https://propstore.com/liveauction and early registrants will be the first to access the auction catalogue from Tuesday.
