Cadbury looking to hire 'Chocolate Taster' and there's still time to apply

Fancy getting paid to munch on chocolate all day?

Cadbury is offering chocoholics the dream job as they search for a new 'Chocolate Taster'. The confectionery giant, owned by Mondelez International, has put out a call for someone with a sweet tooth to join their ranks and sample the latest creations, including chocolate bars, biscuits, and treats from share bags.

Cadbury isn't new to recruiting taste testers; previous adverts have sought chocolate lovers in Wokingham. However, this time, the role is based at the Research and Development Centre at the Mondelez International site in Bournville, Birmingham.

The announcement this week coincided with World Chocolate Day, sending fans into a frenzy. Cadbury's UK Instagram page excitedly announced: "As it's World Chocolate Day, we are giving you the unique opportunity to become a Chocolate Taster! Think you can tick all the boxes?"

According to the job advert, the lucky candidate will join a panel of tasters to try out new products and give their candid thoughts. Applicants must be passionate about confectionery, possess excellent taste buds, communicate well, provide truthful opinions, and be keen to test innovative flavours.

The role involves indulging in chocolate delights and providing objective feedback, working with a team to agree on the flavours, articulating your thoughts on the products clearly, and understanding the ethical and legal compliance responsibilities that come with the job.

The catch? It's a part-time position offering just eight hours a week. However, for some, this could be the ideal side hustle to complement another job.

Business Insider reported that when the role was advertised back in 2019, it came with an hourly wage of £10.75. Those interested should note that the job isn't suitable for anyone with dietary restrictions - you'll need to sample products containing dairy, gluten, and nuts.

Social media users have been expressing their enthusiasm for the role, with one commenting: "I guess someone has to do it. Very tempted."

Another called it the "dream job", while a third shared: "I would love to be a chocolate taster,".

One person even recounted a family tale, saying: "When my mum was a child she was chocolate tester for Cadbury. They sent her chocolates in the post and she had to write about them. She still has the certificate."
