It looks set to be THE must try place for brunch and lunch in Newcastle and a new café set to officially launch this weekend has created a real buzz before it's even opened its doors.

Newcastle is a place that has a number of different hotspots for people on the look out for a quality bite to eat at breakfast or dinner time, with many Geordies creatures of habit when it comes to which one is their go-to. Well the city now has some more food for thought to chew over with a new addition to the food and drink scene in town.

Step forward The Olive KItchen, which will have its grand opening on Saturday, July 6, with music and live entertainment on the menu and has already amassed quite a following on Instagram as well as attracting loads of positive reviews from invited guests who've already had a sneak peek and a chance to tuck into some of the dishes, which have been teased on the business' Insta grid.

Located on Malborough Crescent in the city centre, just over from Times Square and the Centre for Life, The Olive Kitchen is a family run licensed café and bistro, which will be open from 8.30-3.30pm Monday to Friday. Some of the meals previewed in very tempting shots on its Instagram include a chicken tikka panini melt, which as its caption claims gives major 'lunch envy'; brunch staple eggs and avocado on toast and some pretty amazing looking cakes and pastries.

Other breakfast dishes on offer are the Very Berry Porridge, Breakfast Panini and Olive's Hash Bowl, while as the clock hurtle towards dinner, you can pick from options including three different burgers from the Burger Bar, doner sizzler loaded fries and steak and cheese jacket potato, as well as a variety of toasties, cold sandwiches and kids meals.
