Cahill brings 'Songs of Ireland' to TEF series

Feb. 26—THOMASVILLE- He's been called "Ireland's Most Exciting Young Tenor," touring internationally for 11 years as lead singer of Celtic Thunder.

On Tuesday, March 5, Emmet Cahill celebrates the music of his homeland in a solo program, "Songs of Ireland" presented by Thomasville Entertainment Foundation. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomasville Center for the Arts.

Cahill takes listeners on a musical journey, allowing them to connect with cherished memories through beautiful songs like Danny Boy, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling and My Wild Irish Rose. His powerful, classically trained voice comes to the fore when he performs songs from Broadway musicals as well as in tender nostalgic favorites from the Great American Songbook.

Cahill's sold-out debut concert at New York's Carnegie Hall has turned heads with audiences throughout North America, and he is quickly building a reputation for being the golden voice of this generation. His interpretation of beloved Irish classics has likened him with the great Irish tenor John McCormack.

Cahill's debut album release for Sony Music shot to #1 on the World Music Billboard charts, Amazon Charts, and iTunes World Music.

Tickets to Emmet Cahill's performance are $40, or $15 for students. Season ticket sales have been brisk, and available seats are now limited. Interested concertgoers can contact the TEF office at (229) 226-7404 or visit www.TEFconcerts.com for more information.
