Callum Hudson-Odoi will be crucial in helping Nottingham Forest climb the Premier League table this coming season, according to teammate Ola Aina.

Hudson-Odoi has already proved to be one of the Reds’ best pieces of transfer business of recent years. He signed from Chelsea for an initial £3 million 12 months ago and enjoyed an impressive first campaign at the City Ground.

The 23-year-old ended the 2023/24 term on fire as he took his goal tally to eight in 35 appearances for Forest and showed why he was seen as one of the Blues’ brightest prospects when he was younger. Inevitably, such form has resulted in speculation about his future this summer.

Several clubs are said to be keeping tabs on Hudson-Odoi, who is now valued in the region of £40m. But the winger is reportedly happy Trentside, and Aina is in no doubt about his importance to Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

“Everyone knows how good Callum is. He’s a fantastic footballer with bags and bags of talent,” Aina told SportsBoom.com. “Callum can do it all. He’s got better and better as things have gone along and he can cause trouble for anyone.

“Confidence is a big thing for us all and it’s been great to watch his self-belief grow, because we all know what he is capable of. In training, he has always been something else. A natural. Now we are seeing it week in and week out on the pitch, and it is no surprise because we know what he is capable of.

“Callum is just going to keep on getting better and better. He will build on this.”

Aina, too, will have a big role to play for the Reds in 2024/25. After two successive relegation battles, Forest will be aiming to push on in the top-flight this time around.

“It’s great to have another chance in the Premier League,” said the full-back. “It is one we are going to take and make the most of. There are always highs and lows, but hard work is important, and we always give it our all.”
