Callum O'Hare Celtic transfer interest faces competition as Ugurcan Cakir reality revealed

Celtic are monitoring Callum O'Hare ahead of the summer transfer window - but they face serious competition from Premier League clubs.

The Coventry midfielder, 25, has made 31 appearances for the Blues this season and has impressed with nine goals and four assists from those outings. That form has alerted some top clubs, including the Hoops, who have been keeping a close eye on the attacking playmaker with a view to potentially speaking with his representatives towards the end of the season.

Football Scotland understands there is genuine interest from the Scottish giants but there are also a plethora of English clubs, including in the top flight, who have already put forward hefty proposals for the players' agents to consider on his behalf.

O'Hare is an attractive option for Celts as his contract expires this summer meaning he'd be available on a free transfer should the club wish to pursue seriously.

Southampton and Leicester City have already been credited with an interest in the player.

Meanwhile Football Scotland understands Celtic have NOT approached Trabzonspor regarding a move for goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

Reports in Turkey suggested chief executive Michael Nicholson had even reached out for a Zoom call with manager Brendan Rodgers but that is wide of the mark.

There is a Saudi club keen on the Turkey stopper but a transfer pricetag of around £12million would be too rich for Celtic's blood in the current climate.
