The opening date for a new branch of Wendy's in Cambridge has been announced. The fast food restaurant will open its doors to customers from 8am on Thursday, May 23.

The American chain was granted planning permission to open a restaurant in the city centre earlier this year. It is located at 56 St Andrews Street, in a building previously used by NatWest Bank.

On its opening day, Wendy's will serve breakfast from 8am. The lunch menu will be available from 10:30am.

A spokesperson for Wendy's said: "Our breakfast offering is one of our most popular options with strong offers. We will be launching with the offer of any breakfast sandwich and a hot drink for £3.99 and coffee starting from 99p."

The restaurant will be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and the same hours on Sunday. It will be open from 8am to 11pm on Saturday.

The branch will also serve delivery and takeaway food from a walk-up window. It has been granted permission for the walk-up window to be open for longer hours than the restaurant.
