Camilla Turns The Knife On Prince Charles

The Duchess of Cornwall has been photographed jokingly brandishing a knife at Prince Charles as she told him to "behave himself".

The heir to the throne had a look of mock alarm as Camilla, smiling cheerily, held up the eight-inch blade during a visit to a winery near Tanunda in South Australia.

It happened as the royal couple were looking at a collection of kitchen knives made by cutler Barry Gardner, 61.

Charles stared at the Damascus steel blade in apparent horror, and onlookers also saw the funny side.

The pair later toured the winery with Camilla saying: "I am a red wine drinker. My father was in the wine trade."

The couple also visited the Seppeltsfield winery, where they were given a taste of oak-aged tawny port dating back to 1947 and 1948 - the years of their birth.

Charles said his drink was "strong and bold" while Camilla said hers was "refined and elegant".

The trip to the winery northeast of Adelaide was the first on the agenda for their visit to Australia, following a trip to New Zealand.

Charles was reunited by Camilla with a maid from Balmoral with whom he had had a dance in 1993 when, by tradition, as the person who cleaned the prince's suite, she was rewarded with the honour.

Clare Morrow was holding a sign which read: "Charles! Thanks for the Dance! Ghillies Ball" when Camilla spotted her and called her over.

Ms Morrow, 48, who returned to her homeland some time ago and now lives in Adelaide, said: "Camilla thought it was such a funny thing, Prince Charles said 'that was such a long time ago, I don't remember' - I hope he doesn't think I was stalking him."

Asked to describe the dance, she said: "I don't know I was so nervous at the time - I was just a big wobbly bowl of jelly.

"He was always so polite and lovely, no one could say a bad word about him."
