As many people jet away on summer holidays and thousands depart for Germany to cheer on the Three Lions at the Euros, it's certainly one of the busiest times of year for Manchester Airport. With the school holidays only weeks away many will be squeezing in last minute breaks before the kids break up.

Many more will be jetting off to the Euros now that England has made it through to the quarter finals. Over the entire tournament around 100,000 passengers were expected to pass through the airport for the football alone.

Most of the time things run smoothly at the airport, but there can be last minute cancellations and delays. Only last weekend a power cut caused major travel disruption with flights being cancelled from Terminal 1 and 2 for several hours. Power was later restored but it led to long queues and a backlog of baggage.
