Following those changes, the number of wards in the district dropped from 15 to 12 while the number of councillors was cut from 41 to 36. Previously Labour and the Conservatives held 18 seats each with the Greens holding the other five.
Following yesterday's election, power has shifted to the Labour party who won 21 seats to the Tories' 10. The Greens held onto five seats.

The results mean Labour regain control of the council for the first time since 2019. Since that time the authority has wavered between no overall control with the Conservatives holding a majority between 2021 and 2023.
The result follows national trends in which Labour have picked up seats across the country. The Conservatives have lost over 150 seats at time of writing.
In some wards Labour took all of the seats available winning three in Brereton and Ravenhill, Chadsmoor, Heath Hayes and Wimblebury, Hednesford Green Heath and Norton Canes.
