Car Burns on Paris Street as Protests Follow First Round of Voting

A night of protest and reported clashes between demonstrators and police in Paris followed the results on April 23 of the first round of France’s presidential election.

Centrist Emmanuel Macron of the En Marche! movement and Marine Le Pen of the far-right Front National advanced to the second round of the election, which will be held on May 7.
