The UK is predicted to see another wave of warm weather as the weekend fast approaches. Next week's weather forecasts predict that the mercury will climb from Sunday (May 19) to Tuesday (May 21), just in time for the half-term holidays.

The North East, Midlands and Yorkshire are expected to see the best of the weather, wit some regions lapping up highs of 23C according to forecasts. The latest glimmer of hope for warmer weather ahead of the summer comes amid speculation that a Sahara Plume could hit the country in the coming days.

And while many will welcome the warmer climates with open arms, a plume does also carry certain risks with it - to both people and vehicles. The dust that accompanies the plume last month wreaked havoc in mainland Europe, with air pollution levels breaching some of the European Union's safety thresholds in the likes of Spain.

The Mirror reports that people in the south and eastern regions of the country were left breathing dirty air which was four times more than the healthy limit for contamination with PM10 particles - something which could prove troublesome for people with lung conditions like asthma.

The Saharan dust also has the potential to damage vehicles, with thin films of dust sometimes coating cars - scratching paintwork and windows if not removed in the right way. To safely remove this, you should refrain from rubbing or wiping it, instead rinsing thoroughly with a pre-wash before soaking in snow foam and thoroughly rinsing.
